Hydrology in Rwanda

        Rwanda has a lots of waters naturally. It is called Great lakes region because of its entourage by lakes and rivers.

The country overlaps two major watersheds. Western Rwanda is part of the congo River and the Atlantis Ocean. Eastern Rwanda is part of the Nile River basin. Its rivers flow to the east, eventually entering the Nile River and the Mediterranean Sea.

The Mwogo River flows northward along the easten slopes of the congo-nile divide. The river turns sharply to the southeast and becomes the Nyabarango River and then passes just west of the capital city of Kigali. Several tributaries, or branches, from the mountain slopes join this wide and swuift waterway.

The akanyaru River in the south divides Rwanda and Burundi. This stream flows east and the North, oining the Nyabarango River just South of Kigali.

The Kagera River runs along  Rwanda’s borders  with Burundi and Tanzania, flowing through Lake Nasho and Lake Ihema. Lake Kivu is the largest lake in Rwanda. They facilitate agriculture. As you can see, they somehow forms
